You're all not really reading what the headline said: "more likely" is the phrase that was used. It didn't say it was categorically/absolutely/tightly/loosely or otherwise equating one to the other. It's a statistical game (probability!!!!!) at this point where "more likely" might mean a probability of anywhere from 60% to 90%--it all depends how the study defined this term "more likely". So I ask you, is a likelihood of 60% as interesting (or even significant!) as one which is 90%?

I have an above average IQ but I wouldn't consider myself above average in looks. Some people think I'm beautiful, others think I'm ugly. It's a matter of perspective, but I've taken tests that my IQ is above average, and 23andme said I most likely have an above average IQ as well.
I know there are lots of people uglier than me but there are people better looking than me, also (of course, that's MY opinion someone else might find someone I find ugly attractive).

I question their criteria of "beauty", it's too vague to actually try to make a correlation between that and IQ (which itself can vary on the same person, depending on different factors including tiredness, stress, amongst another million factors).
For example, a really gorgeous person might have a higher self-esteem and being more motivated than an "ugly" one who suffers from depressions and anxiety (sp?).
Personally, I don't consider myself particularly good looking - eventho I have gotten a decent share of compliments - I'll let you be the judge of that since there are photos of me on this forum, but my IQ test (which was done when I was 16 lol) was "clearly higher than average" compared to average western adult, to put it vaguely.
I won't say how much I scored, because, personally, I don't consider it relevant nor a real reflection of my "intelligence". There are many factors that have a strong impact on how one's intelligence is percieve by others..if one even cares about what others think..

Whoa! 23andme gives you an IQ prognosis? I had no idea.
Regarding beauty, there is indeed an objective standard for beauty which we all seem to gravitate toward. It almost seems disingenuous to me not to acknowledge it. I think experience (which is clouded with subjectivity) accounts for the differences that exist in people's opinions on beauty.

Yes, here is mine:
A study of Dutch families found that rs363050 is associated with "performance IQ" (i.e. non-verbal IQ). Each A at rs363050 increased subjects' performance IQ by an average of three points compared to those with no copies. The authors estimated that rs363050 accounts for 3.4% of the variation in performance IQ between people.
AA Subjects' non-verbal IQ performance averaged three points higher.
