Balkan people from early middle age in the time of Slavic migration were not genetically same as pre-Roman Balkanites. During the 400-500 years of Roman rule genetic of Balkanites changed (Roman colonists, slaves, merchants, indivudual settlers etc).

Illyrians were not Nordic though (genetically at least). I don't trust these old anthro studies, Nordids and Meds are cranially identical and can't be distinguished except for height.
