Would you rather date and marry someone solely for their brains, or more solely for their looks alone?..

Marry for combination of happiness(someone you get along with and are attracted to) and the practical aspect of your partner making a good wife meaning someone who will be a good mother, home maker and is trustworthy and reliable at least for you and your family a good person.

For marriage = Looks or brains without the other qualities i mentioned above over time will be in many respects of very limited value.

Personality comes first

Look matters but i tend to lose my interest on good looking men if i realize they are a bit off (personality and intelligence wise), on the other hand an average looking man may appear attractive depending on his other qualifications like having a good sense of humor/good manners etc.

Looks, brains, and personality are all non-negotiable important things, otherwise there is really no point in getting married.

i voted for personality, because in my opinion its the last thing that could get boring, but then again, im not particularly looking for any of these things. If anything it needs to be a mix of things that fit to you, or that augment things youre lacking. Maybe something entirely different as well, i wouldnt say its as easy as that you can dumb it down to that

I used to think looks are very important ans height but actually it came out that those things are secondary. A year ago I told the group that I wouldn’t date a guy below 180 cm and here I am now with a Russian dude who is 175cm
We met at a place where you wouldn’t expect anyone to date. He was my lab mentor and after the course was over we fell in love. He is so smart and doing several academic jobs as the same time, a real brain and genius. I love my man <3

personality and looks

What does even brain precisly mean in this context? The brain dictates the personality as well, so i assume IQ and academic success, or book smart: its a nice feature, but at the end secondary in chosing a partner. Those (brainsmart) people can suck in (too) many aspects in life.

While intelligence is more highly inherited through the mother, it's also a burden and not exactly a guarantee of success or even happiness. So i ll go with looks and personality first. The latter becoming more important as time passes, as most women are incredibly borring (nobody would talk to women if it wasn't for sex) but at least a good easy and fun personality along looks can make it bearable experience.
