Countries like most Sub-Saharan African countries, India, Bangladesh, or Haiti are shitholes. And unfortunately my own native country is turning into a shithole.

Most of Latin American countries are countries in process of development, not shitholes. They all have important social problems to solve, but they're not shitholes. And I get tired of reading people saying that countries like Brazil, Mexico, Argentina or Paraguay are shitholes. Venezuela always was on this second category, but thanks to the shitty Chavism/Madurism it has been turning into a shithole.

Those Mexicans who want to emigrate to US are mostly lower class Mexicans dazzled by the US American dream, but most middle to upper class Mexicans (not only a small wealthy elite) live well in Mexico, and are not interested to emigrate. Mexico has many social and political problems (nobody negates that), but is not a shithole. Is a country with a very good infrastructure (roads, highways, buildings, public transportation, etc), with a high percentage of middle class people, and more developed than the shithole that people have in mind when they think about Latin America. Same goes with countries like Costa Rica, Colombia, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay or Brazil.

When a country (even if not developed, but at least in process of development) is in conditions of having a proportionally important middle class who is happy to live in that country and not interested to emigrate, and only the poorest people are the ones who want to leave, that country is not a shithole, but a fairly respectable country. But when a country has a declining middle class, where most of it wants to migrate, that country is really fucked up, like it is the case with Venezuela.

Many people are not fans of the USA. I do not think what Trump said was racist. He was talking about standard of living. However, yes Trump seems to be a racist and he is too dumb to even realize he is.
