In 1800 there were no such countries as Italy, Ireland, Greece nor Argentine. You obviously didn't pay much attention at your European history classes. Many other answers made my head scratch when they wrote modern countries as if they existed in 1800.

It was still a country, and a state. From 1801 it ceased to be a state, but was a country in the United Kingdom, alongside the countries of England, Wales and Scotland.
