if you want to trau... uh, 'shake them up' a little them there's the classic english animated rabbit film for Kids (seriously, it's got a U rating here, not even a PG), Watership Down

it certainly stuck in my mind (and quite a few others)

I hoped it would be less disturbing this time, but really, it wasn't - should have left that memory buried!
I can watch actual horror films and they don't bother me in the least; but this, I can't handle. It makes me sick to see people claiming kids should see this because "they need to learn about the world". I hope my children's world won't include mass murder with poison gas - something best learned about in seventh grade history class, not in graphic imagery shown to small children.
Desensitizing kids to this sort of thing is not exactly an admirable goal, and neither is traumatizing them.

I handled Imprint, (Yes the Masters of Horror episode) The Devil's Rejects, Plague dogs, a lot of other movies that are creepy/disturbing.

But this movie is on whole new level.
I know i sound like a total wuss but it's true.
Any picture/clip that is shown to me i'll scream. (inside) I have a little
bit of a liking to rabbits (i blame Alice in Wonderland of that)
so i guess you can imagine how i feel.
perhaps a good pairing with Peter Rabbit... muahahah

probably best wait 2-ish + years more from age 3 and 4 though, IMO

Yes yes, this is it! Ever since I was small kid I´ve had images of this movie ingrained in my memory! Over the years I had almost completely forgotten about it only for some recollections to randomly reemerge from time to time. I guess this is one of those cases where you´re not completely sure if you really had seen something or if it was just a figment of your imagination distorted over time. But here it is once again! Shit! Now that I´m checking out some clips on YouTube I´m noticing that the only things I seem to recall in relative detail are the rats and assorted graphic scenes. This is really freaking me out now! What a brutal movie! In many ways scarier than "adult horror films". Thanks for sharing! Brought back a lot of memories be they pleasant or not.

    5 Stages of Grief:

Denial: The initial stage: "It can't be happening." Maniot is on top of me.
Anger: "Why ME? It's not fair?!" (either referring to God, oneself, or Maniot perceived, rightly or wrongly, as "responsible")
Bargaining: "Just let me stay to post another day Maniot, please."
Depression: "I'm so sad, why are you picking on me Maniot?"
Acceptance: "It's going to be OK." There is always Skadi.

My favorite kid show, that twisted me into the fine human being that I am today, was H.R. Pufnstuf.

From France, with participation of many countries from all Europe, the best children shows with an educational purpose were the Il etait une fois series, no doubt about it. At least the three first ones: Man, Space and Life.
