These people are either from Portugal or of fully Portuguese descent. I'll post more later.

Contrary to many people's opinions, Portuguese on average are very distinctly southwestern European Atlanto-Meds and look nothing like average Latin Americans, Arabs, or North Africans.

Not uncommon, we have plenty of people with light hair and light eyes. It is just that dark haired people have a majority.

The only uncommon type would be Portugese people with red hair.

That's very true.

I think the closest looking people to the Portuguese (outside of Iberia) are the French and some of the darker individuals from the British Isles.

Mestizos or Mulatto looking Portuguese are certainly not native Portuguese but immigrants from Brazil or Cape Verde ie former Portuguese colonies. There not really Portuguese. The typical Portuguese is Atlantid with some Small Med.

Every now and again from Madeira you get some quadroon-octoroon ish types, like this, because in the 1800s some Cape Verdeans moved there looking for work. Also the slave trade might have had its role. But on the mainland that type is very rare.

The Portuguese are Hispanic. The fact that the word Hispanic is misused nowadays in some areas of the world is just a product of mass-ignorance.

The other thing is that Americans get an unbalanced view of Iberian looks because the only two they can generally think of are Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas who are on the darker end of the spectrum. They are part of the Iberian spectrum no doubt but not everyone in Spain or Portugal looks like them.

Antonio Banderas is actually pale. Penelope Cruz, despite her gypsy ancestry, is still on the lighter end of the spectrum.
