In the first picture I suspect the guy on the left is Brazilian.

The woman just looks overly tanned, or like some of the rare exotic types from Madeira.

The last man doesn't look common, but not out of the spectrum.

Indeed they don't look like any "ethnic" (the key word here is ethnic) Portuguese that I have ever met.

Well some have undeniable foreign ancestry -negroid, concretely...some Portugal colonial policies seemed to encourage racial mixing or atleast be less concerned about it, in contrast with Spain rigid caste system.

There is no need to prove here whether Portuguese people are "white" or not. This isn“t stormfront. We educated people here

I can understand what you mean buy this perfectly, Portugal is a country that is for true less concerned about how people race mix but as for Spain it is stuck way too much into tradition plus this system there isn't much of a surprise because Spain his been like this since and before colonial times.

Well yes it is true that some may have foreign ancestry you might be able to say the same for some people in France, Hungry, or any other European country.

As for our colonial policies, the process of white Portuguese settlers bedding black natives in Brazil was a rather clever ( I think) tactic used to subdue the native population. The idea was, if you are half Portuguese and half native you will feel less pissed off when you see white Portuguese soldiers marching through the town square.

In any case that was a policy for the colonies, most of the half breeds stayed in the colonies. I highly doubt that half black colonists were walking around the Portuguese country side asking for a white womans hand in marriage, much less receiving it and creating racially mixed families. If anything we mixed their country, not the other way around. Further more I am sure that the spannish did the same thing in Mexico and other South American countries. How else did we end up with so many mulattos and mezitos for those areas?

Its actually a quite recent phenomenon. Portugal or atleast Lisbon, where i“ve been is full of quadroons and mixed black people whose ancestors came from their colonies in Africa and south america, and unlike the neighbouring country they are completely integrated. Portuguese people in general is more tolerant than spaniards toward foreigners of other cultures so they didn“t oppose too strongly to the loads of negroids and mullattos who landed there to help their empoverished economy in the last centuries. But still the pure iberian population of the country is quite sizable.

Never judge a country by it's major cities. Go to Philly or New York and you will have a field day trying to categorize the various racially mixed people that you see, even though a majority of the people in the United States remain of direct European decent.
