They probably pray things will get better. They're always several steps closer to the breadline. Survival vs living. The wealthier live with little or none of these stresses.

Yes, however would you say wealthier countries suffer from different kind of pressure? To preform on workplace for instance, deadlines, fast life.

Actually I was inspired by movie about Mother Theresa I just saw on TV. As you know, she was from Catholic Albanian family.

Interesting quote from the film, was, upon arriving to Rome, her sisters noted how the wealthy world suffers from another type of hunger.

For some, yes, that would be true. A person needs to work smart to be productive. But these life issues aren't "pray for help" . More likely, damn that guy and his lack of organisational skills.

I don't think there is any difference between "belief in God" and "belif in spirit or force":

So if you only look at "No belief in God or Spirit" then the results are not that big. You could say most europeans believe in something.

In difficult times the tendency is looking for something that can work as a reducer of pain, or a light beam of hope hence allowing us some sense of consolation.

Why only in difficult times ? I feel closer to God as happy, to be honest
