I agree, he does not look fully southern Italian. The eye shape, jaw line, etc. look like a dark Irish.

To me, he just looks like a lighter Italian, but that could be because I'm so used to seeing him play an Italian-American character.

If you were not conditioned to see him as Italian, then you would likely not read his phenotype that way. He definitely does not look like a typical Sicilian man, especially the eyes. Sicilians usually have very large eyes.

If he was some random guy who came up to me on the street, and not a celebrity, and he told me he was fully NW Euro, I wouldn't believe him. The lips and nose look off for a NW Euro.

The farthest North he is passable in is France, and even that's a stretch.

TBH, I think his best fit is actually North Italy.

But I still think Sicily fits better than NW Europe for him.
