Thanks. There were loads of them out today, with all their merchandise laid out on sheets on the pavement along one main road. Then one of them yelled and they all immediately grabbed their sheets into sacks, chucked them over their shoulders and ran en masse down the street. Then I saw the police car coming. I guessed what they were doing wasn't legal.

I'm not roman but yes there are a lot of them even here in the north...Milan is filled with these illegals...here we call they ''vu cumprà'', a dispregiative slur that make fool of their pronunciaton of the italian ''vuoi comprare?'' (do you want buy?).
