Stereotypes of Polish people

Things I've heard about the Polish where I live.

Good stereotypes:

- Religious, conservative and family-oriented
- Quiet and keep to themselves
- Hard working people
- Gorgeous women

Bad stereotypes:

- Burglars
- Drunkards
- Wiggerish/thuggish/white trash mentality (about the younger ones I suppose)
- Prostitution, drugs and burglary as typical sources of income and generally prone to criminality

To what extent any of the above is true I don't know, I believe each nation has its fair share of good and bad people equally so I guess one can run into both.

POLES SHUNT TO TOP OF CAR CRASH LEAGUE

I recall someone posting the proper stats on here, but arsed if I'm looking for them.

A few mates of mine have had their cars bashed by Poles, the problem is that a lot of them are not insured, so the insured driver can not claim. Multiply this figure x 1000s and this becomes a national problem. No wonder there's so much resentment.

Another problem in my area is petty thievery - a large proportion of the shoplifters in the local Tesco stores are Poles (according to a friend of mine who works as a regional security manager and collates the figures).

I'm not certain about "Hard working people" At least in Russia there is strong opinion that Polish girls and young women are the best in the world.

Okay, I've heard many. Some that I could agree with, some that I could agree with only partially, and some that just make me laugh.

Poles are avid nationalists
Poles are devout Catholics
Poles are fighters
Poles are hard workers

some not so flattering

Poles are dumb
Poles are dirty
Poles are drunks

some that are just plain stupid.

Poles are Jews
Poles are Mongoloids

Germanics don't like Poles and Poles don't like Germanics. In Poland exist very negative stereotypes about german and anglo- saxon women.

I'm Germanic and I don't hate Poles or slavs, and the slavs don't hate me. I do think Anglo-saxons can be ugly more than us more Northern European people on average.
