Default Average person waits 24 days to change their bed sheets

The average person changes their sheets every 24 days, a new survey reveals.

Single people change their bedding after 37 days, while those in a relationship wait nearly 22 days.

The survey also found a big difference in how often men and women swap out their sheets, with men waiting nearly 30 days to change their bedding, and women waiting 19 days.

When sex is involved, men wait an average of 18 days to change their bedding after a one-night stand, while women wait just two.

Although experts encourage people to clean their sheets at least once a week, it's clear many men and women don't do that.

People will spend nearly a third of their lives in bed, this amounts to 56 hours a week of sweat, body oil and dead skin cells.

After a while, they will become filled with fungi, bacteria, dust, dirt, pollen, and other allergens that settle in unwashed linen and mattresses over time.

Mattress Advisor, a company that provides mattress reviews and ratings, surveyed more than 1,000 Americans to find out their bed-cleaning habits and then asked them how gross they perceive different bed habits to be.

The survey revealed people who sleep naked or don't shower before going to bed wait 19 days to do a bed sheet overhaul.

It also found men fell woefully short when it came to hygiene in the bedroom.

Men in relationships wait more than 29 days to change their sheets compared to women, who change their sheets after about 19 days.

Single men were worse, waiting nearly 45 days to switch out their bedding, which could be the reason why they're still single.

This isn't the first report to reveal men are bad at hygiene when it comes to bedding.

A 2013 survey conducted by UK mattress company Ergoflex found men wash their bed sheets just four times a year.

Overall, the new survey revealed single people had the worse cleaning habits.

Singles went 37 days to change their bed sheets, compared to married folks and people in relationships who swapped their bedding after 20 and 21 days, respectively.

Change mine once a week like a civilized human being.

And I can fold a damn fitted sheet like a gangster.
