Is it me or they look quite different from the Dutch? I know they have some other Euro ancestries but was not Dutch make-up at least 80% of them?

According to genealogists there's about an equal amount of Dutch and German ancestry. However, it is blurry ... remember that in those days of emigration, some areas adjacent to modern Netherlands were Dutch - like Bentheim, which is currently in Germany. And ancestors from that area are listed as "German" even though they were ethnic Dutch.
The rest of the Germans mainly came from the Protestant north.
