Default The Genetic legacy of Hungarian Scythians

As a part of the research of my personal ancestry, i compared the Hungarian Iron age Scythians to various modern populations in qpAdm. I started from Hungarians, guessing they would share the most with these Scythians, then i went on to the neighbouring populations. I didn't compare all available populations, because each comparison takes an hour, and it would take me a couple of days to do that.

I think the results i got are quite interesting and i decided to share them:

chisq scores(lower score=more shared genetic drift):
    Code:

Thanks for posting. You should do the same with some proper Balkan genomes like Mycenaeans and Iron Age Croats/Bulgarians.

it's important to say that this isn't a comparison like Gedmatch calcualtors or Global25, which are strongly sensitive to ancient admixtures like WHG and EEF. With help from the user Zoro, I've set up qpAdm to ignore these and look at more recent genetic drift from the last 10000 years or so.

i plan to do that... i'll try to somehow automatize and speed up the comparing process.

Good work. I like your map too. Speed is a challlenge. You can try something like this shell script i wrote to automate a little:

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm > result_qpAdm.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm1 > result_qpAdm1.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm2 > result_qpAdm2.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm3 > result_qpAdm3.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm4 > result_qpAdm4.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm5 > result_qpAdm5.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm6 > result_qpAdm6.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm7 > result_qpAdm7.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm8 > result_qpAdm8.txt

    .............../qpAdm -p parqpadm9 > result_qpAdm9.txt

Basically set up a bunch of par files 1 through 15 or something and each par file has a pleft 1 through 15

Save the above as qpadm.sh and then in linux command run

chmod +x qpadm.sh to make it executible

Then just run ........path to folder holding qpadm.sh/qpadm.sh

I can recommend BGR_MLBA for a try. It is pure Steppe Thracian without admixed with local farmers and should be meaningful if we focus on only Balkans.
