I thought Mongolian at first, with those crazy cheekbones. By Chinese I mean Han Chinese. He's got to be some sort of minority.

Mongolians have big cheekbones but rounder faces and paler skin, often with rosy cheeks. This guy reminds me of some forgotten ancient type. I can't seem to find anyone that looks like him. In a way he reminds me of someone with Gigantism, but he doesn't have that.

I searched on Wikipedia and he's actually from Xinjiang Province. That's where many Uyghurs live and his hometown is near the borders of Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

He still doesn't really share anything with them other than large cheekbones though. I want to say I saw a documentary on rural Chinese villages once and there were people in it that were somewhat similar in characteristics, but I only vaguely remember what they looked like.

I'm convinced in my brain he's partially Mongolian haha. 50% Mongolian 50% Rural Villager 100% would beat the hell out of us.

He's not that uncommon among Han Chinese.
