Why does Cornwall have its own sub-forum?

I guess they should have at subforum regardless of my connection as they're a distinct British ethnicity but are there really enough on here to warrant it? Also, then why not Bretons etc etc

They're a distinct ethnicity, but it's awkward because a lot of English nationalists refuse to accept that. The idea of a little chunk of England separating strikes dread into the heart of many nationalists. Cornish claim that it is a separate entity but somehow the government forgot. They use references such as 'Anglia et Cornubia' - 'England and Cornwall' in old documents to make such claims.
There's like one Cornish member that still posts, and that's not often. Personally I think it should be a subsection of the England section, not the UK.

Yeah, it's better to identify with the biggest parts of your ancestry, not some distant parts. I'm 3/4 English so it would be illogical to call myself Irish, I wouldn't even call myself Anglo-Irish, just English. It's the ethnicity I was born and raised in and have the most ancestry from, so it makes sense.
I suppose 'British' would be an apt term since its non-political meaning is a native of the British Isles. I dislike the term though, it's connected too much to British nationalism and civic nationalism. British nationalists all too often try to downplay our individual cultures and create a monolithic British identity and culture. We have at least 7 native peoples and languages depending on how you count them, British nationalists would see us as one people with one language.
Personally I prefer our loose grouping of related peoples, each free to practice their own cultures in their own regions of the Isles.

I don't think the Cornish are a distinct ethnicity at all anymore. It's almost like saying the east of England are a distinct ethnicity called "Danish Viking English" or something the like.

I've been to both Devon and Cornwall several times, and there is not much of a difference. Only in the minds of people there, because they like to feel special.

Cornwall is a distinct county with a distinct Brythonic culture. It is officially recognized as one of the Celtic Nations, therefore it must have its own subforum.
