During the Middle Ages, half the population of present day Albania was Slavic. Because of their quicker birthrate, they quickly overwhelmed the Slavs and altered Albania’s demographics. Later on, the new Albanian Muslim ruling class was easier on the Albanian Christians but the Slav Christians were forced to assimilate. The Christian Slav first became a Muslim convert and his children, sent to Albanian madrassas would quickly become Albanian speakers. This was the same process by which southern Serbia was colonized in Ottoman Times.

As i have said many many(and again, many many) times now, it is proven that we are indigenous in Balkan, but its still being discussed from what ancient balkan people we are descendants of, ie if it is Illyrians, Thracians or Dacians.

I was reading up on Shiptar history one night and one thing that really struck me... that Shiptars have never fought Serbs during the medieval period and Albania was made part of the Serbian Empire easily without much resistance... maybe because Shiptars never had a national consciousness like they do today back then?

And i do not accept partial sources, be it Serbian or Albanian. But above all, i have already provided impartial academic sources contradicting his statements.

The primary motive that inspired me to oppose the albanian pseudo science about their illyrian origin was the truth, the love for the truth, my special inclination towards it, but second and equally as important motive was the fact that, watching the Albanians being breast-fed with chauvinism and racism, are being encouraged to fight their neighbouring peoples (nations), I was hoping that if the truth is explained to them, they will move away from the tales, legends and myths about their autochthony and illyromania, thus ceasing with their inexcusable and baseless hatred towards their neighbors.

According to most historians/linguists, the home of the Albanians is considered to be Northern-Albania, stretching to Nish(in modern Serbia). In this particular area, illyrians where dominating.

Have any genetic studies been done on Albanians yet? If so, I would be appreciative if you could point me to them.
