A litany of pure idiocy: the police should never have removed that flag, the daft fool should never have turned a gun on the police and they shouldn't have made him a martyr (some lead in the hip and a guarded hospital room would have done just nicely). Now the Albanian police made sure that their government is viewed by the whole village (and probably even the region if also majority Greek) as occupiers to be fought with lead (for desecrating their graves (by removing a flag) and killing a local and the fool himself as a martyr.

In the early 20th century, Marechaussees (military police) from Holland (how tone-deaf could one be !) were often posted in border regions in both South and East and they were considered bird free by a population that viewed them in much the same light - as they later viewed the Germans. I think the Albanian government may have made a very similar mistake here.... (judging from the police's tone deaf actions)
