What is the chance the Norman ruling classes of feudal Italy or the Longobards of Italy were 'Germanic' ?
The problem is what people consider to be Celtic , from the British isles, contra the Hallstatt influenced Gauls of the continent is that the dirty little secret is the Welsh and Scottish , also probably the modern Irish, are Celto-Germanic they are just somewhat less 'Germanic' than the English on average but the difference is small but since there is a difference these celtic groups get labelled , well, 'Celtic'. The Gauls on the continent were absored into Greco-Roman , in France, and into continental Germanics in NorthEast France and SouthWest Germany where Celtics in Iceland and Scotland were absorbed into Vikings and in England into the Saxons but you probably already know this :
