Could you link to the source? The allele frequency of T among the Ashkenazi aggregate on gnomAD is much higher than European Non-Finnish aggregate and comparable to South Asians (~0.49). Tuscans are genetically closer to Ashkenazim than most Europeans so I'm curious if there is similarity in allele frequency.

The data of the 1000 genomes project is much more limited than with gnomAD. The huge European Finnish and non-Finnish gnomAD 4.0 aggregates differ in T allele frequency by only 1.18 percent. Since the the UK Biobank is well over-represented in the European non-Finnish aggregate if the UK really has a lower frequency of the T allele than other Europeans the gap with the Finnish is even lower. I wonder how much variation in allele frequency actually exists in Europe.

As for Ashkenazi the Middle Eastern allele frequency from both gnomAD 4.0 and Human Genome Diversity Project although based on a relatively limited number of individuals indicate a notably higher frequency of the T allele than Europe. Combing the two sources for an allele number of 574 the T frequency is ~0.47. So accounting for genetic drift the outcome with Ashkenazi is not so surprising.
