"Furious Roland" [Italian. "Orlando furioso"] - the most epic chivalrous poem of the Renaissance, which had a strong influence on the development of all European literature. The author, the Italian Ludovico Ariosto created it back in 1516.

She is interesting to us due to the fact that our compatriot, the “Proud King of Circassia” Sakripant [ital. Sacripante].
A sacripant is a symbol, a model of chivalry, not only in the work of Ariosto, but also in the poem Orlando Innamorato by another Renaissance Italian, Matteo Boyardo. He is shown by one of the noblest warriors, not only among the Saracens, but also Europeans. In the poem itself, he is called the "true knight", his fame is equal to the glory of the legendary Roland.
