A curiosity about British people - do you like Whiskey and if you like, which whiskey do you like?

Hello British mates.
I was curious if you like whiskey and if you like it, which kind of whiskey you like most?
Like the brand.

I am not British, but ill say this if you haven't done so already try some of the new world whiskeys like Crown Royal or Jack Daniels. They're cheaper than some of the British ones and hey after a few shots they all taste the same anyway

Nope, I don't drink alcohol. (I used to drink the occasional glass of wine a few times a year, but I haven't bothered drinking any alcohol for many years now after losing a partner who died young from alcohol, and I had an uncle who has a twin who are both brothers of my father... and was killed by a drink driver. I know of a child who was killed by a drink driver and I've seen other devastations caused by alcohol.)

The amount of drinkers in the UK has declined eversince the smoking ban in pubs. The amount of smokers has drastically fallen in England to being the second lowest rate of smokers in Europe (after Sweden,) and the drinking rate is declining too.

Out of curiosity, what does petroleum taste like..?! I've never tasted that.

I'm not british but i have few words to say about whisky

really good whisky is quite expensive. so lets move on. i like chivas (25) and glenfiddich (12, 25). if i can't find these i get jack daniels. which is just okay.if you like whisky, you'll probably also like cognac. remy martin (vsop)is good.

Out of curiosity, what does petroleum taste like..?! I've never tasted that.

Horrible Most guys who have tinkered with cars in their lifetime have syphoned petrol through a hose and it takes a lot of practice to not get a mouthful.

Whiskey is put to maturation in oak barrels. No idea how it could taste like petrol,unless is not forged.
Original whiskey tastes like oak and the perfume of oak is very strong in it and this is why I can drink whisky/whiskey.
While I cannot drink vodka, which smells like pure alcohol.

British whisky is made from malt while American whiskeys are made from mostly corn.
British whiskey must be aged/matured at least 3 years so you can sell it under the name of Whisky/Whiskey.
American whiskey is of more types.
Jack Daniel's is Tennessee Whiskey.
A whiskey needs to be made from at least 51% corn,needs to be aged/matured at least 2 years only in the state of Tennessee in new charred American oak barrels and only then it can be sold under the brand Tennessee Whiskey.

Jim Morrison liked his whiskey/whisky. (He was of Scottish, English, and Irish descent.) I always think of whiskey/whisky as a Scottish drink. I've tried it in the past... it's nice in small doses to warm oneself up on a cold winter day. I prefer the taste of Baileys Irish Cream if given a choice.
