I know , and it's kind of unrealistic. Especially movies about the American South (other than Gone With The Wind) Every white Southerner is either stupid , violent, or both, and every black person is just so nice and kind and sweet and just minding their own business. That is really annoying. The Magic Negro is a trope in every movie about the South. Apparently any white Southerner just happens to be pure evil and every Black Southerner is just a perfect angel.

The African-American experience/situation has parallels with First Nation in Canada, Aboriginals in Australia, and Maori in New Zealand.
Colonization and slavery can have much the same effects. And those peoples have still yet to fully recover themselves from said experiences.
No one would willingly choose to occupy such a stratum in society. It is not as if African-Americans, for instance, are intellectually incapable of grasping the benefits of higher socio-economic status, or so apathetic as to be content with their station in life..
If some raiding force occupied Belgium and disrupted/decimated Belgians' family units, they would partake of the same experiences as have African-Americans and Aboriginals.
The trauma of slavery and colonization is not something that can be healed in a few generations..

You mean the slavery that they themselves sold their own into? If you hear interviews of former slaves in the United States they were already well over slavery and had regular jobs and had moved on with their lives . It's only the recent generations that the American Negro wants to go back to the past and act as if they just stepped out of slavery with a chip on their shoulder because of it . Which btw, wasn't nearly as awful as they portray it to be .
