Well hell to everyone! I had to come up with a fancy Irish title of course but for here on in we'll be using English !

Well we have all unanimously come to a decision (that being my self, Gospatric and Magister Eckhart) to focus our attention of the Cork sub-dialect of Munster Irish as set out in the Teach Yourself Irish course of Myles Dillon and Donnacha Ó Cróinín. The main advantage of this course is that all the necessary materials are online (PM me for the textbook, audio and other resource links).

My textbook today finally arrived in the mail (I cannot use the PDF, I need a book in hand). So it's a good as time as any to work out the fine print.

So.. what next?

Something Geist said to me in the chat box, about monologues, reminded me.. "to be or not to be" has got to be on the most overrated things in the English language.. I say "things" because I have nothing intellectual enough for replacement.

I see no one has joined me.. why not? Am I that standoffish? Shame. I'd have liked company.

Is standoffish even an appropriate word for the situation I find my self in? Does 2 + 2 really equal 4? Or is this subjective? Am I a philosopher now? Possibly. It seems anyone can be a philosopher these days if they have a witty t-shirt.

But if it's witty they're obviously not philosophers because the mass of unwashed cretins can understand that it is witty and if it was truly philosophical they would not understand it therefore would not recognise the wit in it..

I want my questions answered.. but who can here me? Perhaps none of you are real but figments of my imagination..

But if you were figments of my imagination you would reply to me. I think that's the answer to those who ask that question, how they can know if something is truly real and not something of your own design..

If it was your creation life wouldn't suck and women would dance naked and serve you wine whilst your friends played blowing all day..
