In Italy we call various groups of people with names that I am not able to translate. Can you help me?
Discovering the hurban vault...
TARDONA: (litt. "a late woman"). It's a woman that arrives at her 40-50 and is still single or divorced, so she starts to wear sexy and to act like a teen in the desperate effort to pick up a man. Usually she wears miniskirts and boots, is artificial tanned, wears a lot of make up and attempts discos, clubs and night locals and of course the gym, where she doesn't lose occasion to exibit a black G-string under white aderent trousers. Maybe... a MILF? Diffusion: the whole Italy.
TAMARRO: a guy with a very cheap style who tries to pass for cool, usually adopting a ridicolous look. The typical tamarro wears white trousers and black shirt, has gel in the hair and big glasses, sometimes even on night. In some cases he can also wear a golden chain. He attempts gym and discos and listen only house music. Diffusion: mostly in Rome.
PIGRO/PIGRA : (litt. "lazy man/woman"). In Italian gyspies of roma origins or Italianized gyspies are often called "the lazies" becouse the don't work. For extension, pigri are also the normal Italians who adopt a gyspie style. The typical pigro is a boy that wears an earring on the left lobe with a brillant or with a little golden cross and a golden chain, usually wears low jeans and the edge of his slips are visible. The typical pigra is a girl that wears big hoop earrings, often with a second or/and a third hole and speaks mostly dialect. She wears also like a little slut, with short tops and low jeans.
Diffusion: mostly in Pescara.
TRUZZO/A: the typical truzzo is the son of a rich father that spends also 800 euros par month in clothes. He wears only brands, mostly Italian brands like Gucci, Alviero Martini, D&G, Fendi, Calvin Klein and Emporio Armani. Usually he wears a shoulder bag of Gucci, a swim wears of Emporio Armani and a lot of parfum. Usually his girlfriend is a truzza, a bottle-blonde or a sexy brunette to whom he gifts expensive presents of Italian brand. The typical truzza is his female counterpart. Her ideal boyfriend must own at least a BMW Z4 and bring her on vacation at the Carribbeans. This cathegory attempts expensive disco and expensive restaurants, in any case it's their parents to pay. Diffusion: the whole Italy with a highest pick in Milan.
TARPANO: a person, often of low class, who would like to act like a truzzo, but usually his manners and his look remain boor. The typical tarpano depilates his eyebrows and speaks loud, often with a strong dialect accent. Diffusion: Apulia, with a pick in Bari.
TECCHIO: this is typically an Abruzzese expression. It refers to a big gimmy guy that uses muscles to hit on a girl. This word is in relation with the English "thick", but I'd say more with "dick-head". Usually he has a very limited intelligence and little or null personality.
As you see in Italy we are a bit fucked in terms of new generation. How's the situation in your country? How can I express these cathegories in English?
