Yeah, so you mean we don't necessarily look Med in terms of phenotype.... I mean, I'm not Med for example but that's not the point..... I mean a Dinaric Italian with Italian vibe does look southern euro without being Med phenotypically...... If you mean this then you're right, we primarily look southern Europeans.

Salvini and Del Piero southern shifted? If you refer to southern Italy, then you're completely out of the way..... Yes Salvini and Del Piero might lack the Alpinid influence a huge number of north Italians has, but they're still quite typical

Most Italians here are from North Italy and look nothing like stereotypical Austrians. They look just like regular Meds with either Alpinid or Dinarid tendencies. And that’s the bulk of North Italy. Of course there is more overlapping with Austria than in other regions of Italy, but truth to be told, several regions of North Italy are ethnically and culturally German and French and even Slavic, not “Italian”... That being said, Ukraine and Romania are closer.

They share a similar landscape, the Alps, which are a major European geographical feature; Veneto, Venezia-Friulia-Giulia and Lombardia were part of the Austrian Empire; many dishes that exist in Austrian cuisine have counterparts in North Italy; some words in Venetian (probably Lombard too) are of Germanic origin; there are German-speaking communities in Trentino and Veneto (The Seven Communities); both are Roman Catholic; part of the Tyrol, the most famous part of Austria, is literally Italian territory.

Interesting because here it is the total opposite. Northern Italians in South America look very Austrian-like.
