My fiance was just cleaning his gold cufflinks, he put them in a pot of boiling water with amonia and they came out looking brand new.

That's a great trick. I do that with my jewellery pieces that have intricate settings.

I clean my glasses with white vinegar. White vinegar and very strong (Listerine type) mouthwashes neutralize the scent of cat pee.

I'd rather pay the extra buck for liquid soap than to have to grate the soap myself.

To keep the inside of our tubs and shower cleaner, I use automotive paste wax on the walls. Give them a good scrubbing every other month, and then wax them. Be sure not to wax any closer than a foot or so above the floor for safety's sake.

There is a product here in the states called Rain-ex, which is a liquid treatment for the car windows that causes rain water to run off so in a light rain one doesn't need the wipers. I use this on the inside surface of the glass tub door.

I've been having trouble with my laundry, I used the recommended amount of liquid detergent but I think it's too much, the clothes come out sudsy and rough. I can tell there's too much detergent in them. I've washed them with max. temperature and just water several times (soapy bubbles still comes out!). I heard you can use white vinegar to get rid of it, but I'm worried about the smell. Has anyone tried it?
You might also try adding 1/2 c (120 ml) of sodium borate powder with your soap, which goes by the tradename Borax here in the States. If you have minerals in your water, it seems to help things rinse better after the wash cycle.
