Has anyone here ever fasted?

I'm starting a water fast today... Going to try and hold out for as long as I can.

Anyone ever attempt this before? Any good results?

Only for short periods before medical tests that required such. Otherwise, my doctor recommends against fasting.

You can harm yourself by only drinking plain water; electrolyte loss can throw you way out of whack, can even be fatal.

You still haven't said exactly why you want to fast but Piparskeggr is right.

I would rather recommend something like freshly squeezed (is this the right word??) apple or carrot juice. Not the kind you buy in the shop, your own. You get the nutrients that you wouldn't get with water, and you have less chances of electrolyte imbalance.

In the past, yes. I wasn't non-religious in my younger years, so the holly week, I was fasting.
Now, I don't.

I did it for religious reasons once (yes i knowz i iz a mysliman) then I stopped because I realized I had no clue why I was fasting. I understand the purpose now but I still don't give enough of a sh*t to do it.

You didn't eat for a whole week?

I'm guessing you're forbidden to eat certain things during fast in Greece? I know the Catholics only eat fish during Lent, and the Jews only eat unleavened bread during the Sabbath (if I'm not mistaken).

In any case, I'd agree that only drinking water seems a bit drastic. You need a bit of nutrients to keep you going, even if you are to fast.
