I voted for Belgrade because it was the capital of Socialist Yugoslavia which was the last Balkan country to have an absolute hegemony over all the Balkans. The city is making a comeback with Serbia's economy seeing a recovery and a much surer path towards the EU with the apprehension of Mladic. Not to mention the strategic location of Belgrade which gives it a lot of value.
Serbia joining the EU will ensure a more quicker economic development of Belgrade. Belgrade has the potential to become the London (excluding all that Paki/Arab mess, of course) of the Balkans and it will when it joins the EU.
Istanbul, no doubt... all the bad habits in the Balkans come from the years of Turkish rule. let's look at the lower classes in the Balkans - the way they dress (I mean kitsch and cheap), the way they spit sunflower seeds on the street, the Turkish-influenced music they listen (turbofolk, manele, chalga), the strong minority Turkish-looking. Istanbul is the capital city of the Balkans. anyway all these give it a special charm. Balkans are for sure an interesting place to visit
great Balkanic band mostly tributary to Sarajevo

Where's Prishtina?

Trieste.

In my individual case, it's with help of American money.Anyways, who pissed in your cheerios? Sure, some European money will have a role in helping our economy lift off and gain the ability to be independent but that's as far as it'll go. We're not like Bulgaria where all European financial assistance goes down a mysterious whirlpool with corrupt politicians taking their share.
