Where did you get the idea that the germanic/slavic/steppes Y-chromosome marker R1a is (so much) higher in nothern Germany than it is in southern Germany and Austria (assuming minus Tyrol, which is entirely different)?
(I'm not saying that you are wrong, I'm just interested)

I do not think it would be a good idea for Austria to see Anschluss with Germany. After all it was Austria emboldened by a strong Germany who decided to start WW1 by invading Serbia. Two decades later, an Austrian hijacked Germany and turned it into Nazi state and eventually started WW2 by invading Poland. Serbia and Poland certainly have a thing in common and that is being victims of Austrian aggression.
