15th March 2019

The ever-popular 'Branch Line Weekend' at the Bluebell Railway, this year held over the weekend of 15th-17th of March 2019, ran with a strong London and South Western Railway theme, with both visiting engines; 0298 "Beattie Well Tank" Class - 30587 and O2 Class - 24 "Calbourne", being products of the LSWR.

For the Friday of the event, three regular passenger services were in use over the full length of the line, as opposed to the Split-Line running the event features on Saturdays and Sundays.

However, the Friday of the gala was to feature a very special working, as an LSWR cavalcade, comprised of four Ex-LSWR locomotives in BR Black, made its way from Sheffield Park to Horsted Keynes in the afternoon. Hauled by the visiting pair of LSWR locomotives, the consist featured the freshly turned out pairing of 0415 "Adams Radial" Class - 30583, and B4 Class - 30096 "Normandy" (name not carried), with the four locomotives subsequently being lined up shoulder to shoulder for a photographic opportunity at the North end of Horsted Keynes station.
