Greer is correct in one thing: Sending in ground troops will give free reign to rapists within the British army. They have done it in WWII, they did it in Northern Ireland, and they will do it in the next and the next.

'The Female Eunuch' by Germaine Greer was a most germane and agreeable book, which poked fun at the stupid gender roles which men and women unwittingly play.

It's a short book and made for fun reading in my 20s when I was walled up in a cold house in Bellingham, Northumberland.

It's like psychosexual sex education for men who want to understand why women are such freaks etc.

Greer explains it in detail, including the 'hag' phenomenon.
