GEDmatch results from Veneto, Northern Italy

It seems there's a big genetic variation inside Northern Italy, the biggest genetic divide in Italy isn't between Central Italians and Northern Italians, but between Alpine region people and people from the lowlands (this person is from the Alps).

Yeah, some parts of Veneto don't seem to be that different from Bergamo sample. It's becoming more clear that there's some kind of Alps - lowlands variation inside all parts of Northern Italy (I've seen such disparity in Piedmont as well), with people from the Alpine region being considerably more northern than the ones in the lowlands.

This sample, for example, got French, West Germans and even South Dutch before Bergamo North Italian sample in the top 20.

There's a clear sign of considerable Germanic admixture even if this person has 8 Venetian speaking great-grandparents.

I would expect such a result from someone who comes from German speaking areas of South Tyrol. He is half German genetically.

This result looked atypical the first time I saw, but then I saw other Alpine Northern Italian results which were similar. She certainly has 8 Venetian great-grandparents and likely 16 Venetian speaking great-great-grandparents. She's from Conco di Vicenza.

Compare with a ''lowland'' from the same province (the difference is quite striking imo):

Interesting! So the mountainous northern part which is close to Austria and probably isolated is like South Tyrol. I notice that even the lowlands area is a little northern or north-eastern shifted. I assume due to proximity with Slovenia there is some Germano-Slavic admixture?
