Look, Spanish people have their way of doing things. for example, even among spanish speaking people, Spaniards might seem rude because spaniards like to say, "joder" a lot, and at times where for mexicans, might be judged as extremely out of place and just plain obsecene. The same with thanking and greeting people. Mexicans OF MEXICO are extremely sensitive about greetings and thanking. if they say to you, "buenos días" "buenas tardes", things like that, Mexicans expect you to say the same or else you will be judged as exteremely rude or uneducated. spaniards, from personale experience, aren't as sensitive like Mexicans are in that area.

Mi familia es de Jalisco y si digo joder a la cantidad de lo que dicen los españoles como en Guadalajara por ejemplo, los tapatios me van a ver como si soy maleducado.

Straightforward and direct =/= rude. Some people might find that uncomfortable, but for me it's the opposite, I appreciate it. I cant stand when people are too polite and diplomatic and never say what's really on their mind, like most Asian people do.

I suppose you're not referring to SE Asians. There is nothing polite about them. Mostly they're blunt to the point of being embarrassing (although this is really because most of them are very dense. Lack of intelligence and outspokenness is a tragic combination).

A little "rudeness" would serve them well in this ridiculous era of feelgood grouphug multiculturalism. Europeons of today are instructed to love the foreigner and despise their own.
