    Default Portuguese food.

Spain has a thread, now Portugal does too.

    Some of my favorites;

Carne de vinho e alhos (pickled pork with garlic and wine)

    Caldo verde (kale soup)

    Linguiça

    etc.

Sardinha assada (grilled sardines - a typical summer dish from June to August)

Açorda alentejana (typical light cuisine from Alentejo)

Bacalhau (codfish - it is cooked in many different styles):

    À Brás

    À Gomes de Sá

    Com natas (with cream)

    Cozido (boiled)

    À Lagareiro

Or just raw with onions, olive oil and vinegar

    Ameijoas (clams) à Bulhão Pato

Cozido à Portuguesa (stew of beef and pork with cabbage and different types of sausages)

Feijoada à Transmontana (another meat stew, with beans, cabbage and different sausages - eaten during the winter)

    Chocos fritos (fried cuttlefish)

Gaspacho (typical to Alentejo, also in Spain, but they do it differently)

    Arroz Doce (sweet rice pudding)

    And much more.

    I'm hungry now.

I devoured these cakes in Lisbon

Espada tengo. Lo demás, Dios lo remedie.

In the west almost all Spain had been subjugated, except that part which adjoins the cliffs where the Pyrenees end and is washed by the nearer waters of the ocean. Here two powerful nations, the Cantabrians and the Asturians, lived in freedom from the rule of Rome.")

    Portuguese food looks delicious.
The only Portuguese food that I have tried is Linguiça, which I first ate while working in Hawaii, served with a variety of otherwise Americanized dishes, like on omelette's and pizza. It is never the less delicious and I do buy it a few times a year.
