I would say Northern Italy simply because the one on the left looks to have a Dinaric or Noric component which is rarely found in Southern France.

They don't look that French they look in between Swiss Italian or the far reaches of the Balkan area such as Slovenia or Slovakia which would make their background I could see the one on the left possibly passing as Croatian.
