Why many Americans and Western Europeans hate Russia?

Russia is not less liberal and democratic then Israel or let alone Saudi Arabia. Who are good allies of the USA. I dont think Russia wants to conquer the world. The cold war is over. Yet still many americans see Russia as enemy, and especially the elites and the ones who make american politics. I dont know about the average joe or population.

He wants to absorb as much of the former USSR as possible and expand Russian influence across the globe if I were to guess. He did not need to intervene in Syria but he did anyway at cost to his own military and economy just to prove to the world that Russia can do what America can.

Simply put, it is a diversion tactic by the media and the elites to come up with a scapegoat for all the problems they created with their allies (other countries aligned with the western oligarchs). Russia happens to be that scapegoat in the western media. The elites are only interested in purposely destabilizing other countries in order to install puppet statse and drying up the countries' resources to fuel their own desires.

This is a consistent tactic throughout human history with countries/empires; the nobility/elites are the power hungry egomaniacs that seek to further their own interests by purposely dumbing down the masses/commoners in their ignorance/enforced enslavement/indoctrination to do the elites' dirty work.

I would say there is a minority of intelligent common folk/average joes that can see through their lies/poorly constructed excuses/propaganda.

I dont know why he intervened in Syria. But why do you think that world where America and only America projects power and influence is better? If I were to guess a world with multiple powers would keep a check and balance similar as to division of powers within a democracy.
