Stereotypes notwithstanding, I actually find Americans to be far more accommodating towards other languages than the British are. However globalised and multicultural modern Britain may be in many ways, the truth is that not even London (or, for that matter, other heavily immigrant cities like Birmingham, Leicester or Bradford) have anything like as much multilingual signage, information, menus etc. as is the case in many US cities.

Jokes aside, English is so common in Sweden, tv ads in english, english is written on stuff you buy in the store, people learn english at a young age in school.
Its kinda happening here without anyone knowing.
I don't care unless they forbid Swedish to be spoken.

Most French people can't speak English fluently and there's this silly old beef with England.
