Illyrians are basically Mycenaeans that seeded the backward Proto-Italio-Celts in the Middle to Late Bronze Age. Illyrians can't be "more" advanced than Greek's because they were of Hellenic Influence and Culture you Scythian Gaul.

Greeks were migrants to Greek peninsula when Illyrians were already considered oldest people in Europe.
When Illyrians were considered oldest people in Europe modern Greeks were circling around Cyclades looking for a way to make landfall on Greek peninsula.
