North Africans are very easy to spot and are definitely exotic as a whole. That they are not European anthropologically speaking isn't really challenged.

Arab admixture is very very rare in North Africa, they just speak Arabic. If they had Arab admixture at significant levels we would see them shift to Ethnic Saudis and Yemenite Jews/highlanders who are basically the same genetic population, and also Iraqi Bedouins, and frankly they don't. In fact the average Levantine is more Arabic genetically than the average North African, simply due to history and geography of the region, and they do show the shift.

They're Arabic like I'm Latin. It doesn't mean it's illegitimate for them to consider themselves Arabic from a meta-ethnic standpoint. Things aren't black and white.
