Default Obama: Troop move to Mexican border under consideration

President Obama weighed in Wednesday on the escalating drug war on the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that he was looking at possibly deploying National Guard troops to contain the violence but ruled out any immediate military move.

Don;t you feel silly submitting to all those airport harrassments by TSA knowing that the whole Mexican border has been wide open all this time?

Meh. You can count me among the minority that find airport security, especially the profiling of Arabs, to be a good development. It's certainly a bit overkill, and our borders are horribly neglected, but airport security is a good thing none the less.

Regarding Mexico, I was listening to the Hugh Hewitt show today and he spent quite a bit of time with an international security consultant (some ex-Marine officer) talking about the escalations of the violence between the drug cartels. There've been something like 7,000 victims so far this year.
