    There are 4,290,612 people living in Croatia today, according to the preliminary results of this years’s census.

    Actually, the size of the population has remained largely the same in the last ten years. The 2001 census reported 4.4 million people living in Croatia. The observed difference is because different metodology was used in the latest census. Back in 2001, even those Croatians who lived in Germany (and elsewhere) and came to Croatia once or twice a year were counted as residents.
