Years ago I saw an old TV adaptation of Huck Finn. It was made in a somewhat pre-PC era. At one point in the story, Huck and Tom come upon a runaway slave and an abolishionist who attempted to help him escape. These two were in the custody of some good ole boys who caught them.

The good ole boys started making preparations for an instant hanging and it soon became clear that it was the white Abolishionist who was going to be hung. Huck asked Tom, why dem folks anging de white man and not dem n*gg*r slave?

The answer was something to the extent of:

Dat slave be worth 10 dollars at the market, the Abolishionist wasn't worth anything!

The example you posted is the result of interference by man. In nature different breeds of related species will not procreate without coercion from man for his own amusement or need, e.g the mule (mare + jackass). We should take our cue from nature.
