In 52 BC,
he fought for supremacy.
Against Caeser he fought and bled,
thousands of Gauls now lay dead.

At Averni he fought the Roman might,
defending Gaul from the Imperial night.
Defeated in battle his life he gave,
surrending his self as a Roman slave.

Chorus-
Vercingetorix, Hero of Gaul
mighty Celtic warrior we answer your call.
Vercingetorix, warrior so true,
2000 years later, we salute you

Taken as a captive to Rome he now went,
his head unbowed his back was unbent.
Murdered in public for the Roman mob,
this hero of Gaul was beaten and flogged.

Today he lives in our spirit so proud,
standing defiant amongst the crowd.
He sacrificed for the survival of our race,
although beaten he wears no disgrace.

Vercingetorix, Hero of Gaul
mighty Celtic warrior we answer your call.
Vercingetorix, warrior so true,
2000 years later, we salute you!
