Default If the British Empire had held together.

If the North American Colonies had not revolted or had not succeded in independence, how might subsequent events have unfolded? They might have went the way of the others.

Most modern British historians portray the event as warranted. I was more wondering how the event might have effected the French in 1789 as well as the 20th century European wars.

There would be a battalion of British infantry teaching martians how to form an infantry square and march in step....salute the union flag and be loyal to the queen.
True we may take a bauble here and a bangle there for our troubles but there would be free speech and fair play across the universe by now,and the world would be a lot better place to live instead of the mess it is.
Christian values would heve been taught to all the heathens and whats more the English would be ruling the planet as is their rightfull place in the world............thats how subsequent events would have enfolded.

Their Revolts was reasonsed by the thoughts of liberalism away from the ruling Empire back then.
I´m not too fond of Monarchy in general.
The Empire would want to control the States for sure.

It's unlikely the states would have become so powerful, and that could have changed the balance of ww2 since they supplied so much material, could even be speaking german instead of english, but I know all the brits will object saying that would be impossible ect ect

I think subsequent events in world history would have came out about the same had the U.S. remained part of the Commonwealth in some fashion. The two World Wars would likely have ended much sooner with American participation from the beginning, assuming that British control would not have stifled American industrial development (which is a big assumption).

    The Empire still holds.

Look in the neighbourhood. If the North American colonies had not become independent, the first thing that would have changed is that non British settlers would have not been allowed in by the Crown, or would have been restricted, fearing that, before an attack, they might have surrendered to the enemy in case of attack.

Probably isolated to the east coast, leaving the interior to the French & Spanish.

Possible. Another negative possibility. The loss of unification
always seemed rather negative to me.
