If electrification/hybridation makes it faster, fine. Otherwise no since i have no plans to "save the planet", which won't help anyway.

Electric cars are certainly transitional. It's not ideal at all, as it requires mining a lot of rare minerals, which might be worse in the long run than running on Dinosaur's juice afterall.

You can take them on longer trips as well! As long as there's good supercharger coverage. I have one for the past three years, it hasn't let me down yet.

I got a letter from my local government that my van has to go in two years. I have a diesel now, think I go straight to electric.

Yes, no problem, it's even a smart choice with all the benefits and tax incentives for the owners in Portugal.

the environmental friendliness of EV cars is a bit of a con tbh
Electricity is often generated in coal powered or gas powered power stations
The lithium ion batteries involves huge lithium mining operations

it's not the clean power it's marketed as to the masses

A few years ago when this thread was started, i doubted the EV. After driving them, I’m a fan. Excellent performance, quiet, reliable and much cheaper to run. Embrace the change. It is in our best interests, ultimately.
Nine out of ten concerns are completely unfounded.

Hybrids are superior, especially last generation. Best of both worlds.

It depends on your requirements. We have one within our household and for very long trips in regions with little charger infrastructure, maybe. Otherwise, no way. Day to day, BEV over hybrid. Far better performance, comfort and plug-in at night for cheaper home rates for charging. We have a free period from 9-midnight. Although people who live in apartments or housing without offstreet private carparking might disagree.
