Kim Kardashian speaks out about Dutch and Belgian ‘Zwarte Piet’ tradition

The American reality TV star Kim Kardashian has spoken out about the Dutch and Belgian tradition of ‘Zwarte Piet’, or ‘Black Pete’ in a Tweet.

Kardashian shared a story by Al Jazeera following the arrival of Sinterklaas and his helpers, who many see as a racist stereotype, commenting that she found the “tradition” disturbing.

I find it amazing how the attacks on our way of life are coming from all sides now: we have to pay more money to Brussels, we're getting less influence, referendums have been binned, there is this whole manufactured crisis around nitrogen emissions that is now leading to the pillars of the country being under attack (Schiphol, construction, ports, transportation farmers, fishing), the Dutch Left now wants to force us into a forced energy transition (costing us around 1200 euro's per year more in energy costs which will drown the lower classes in debt and destroy the entire middle class), wants to bring back speed limits to either 100 or even 80km/h, raise fuel prices, ban flying inside Europe and raise airline ticket prices by a full 100 euro's in taxes and now this international pressure to change our traditions. The thing with Dutch is that we are willing to go a long way... until we're not. What do they want ? Another 1566 ? They will have another thing coming for them.

It's funny btw how most municipalities have already taken position: for maintaining the tradition as it is. Leftist politicians tried to financially blackmail conservative cities but that blew up in their faces as well. Turns out that in cities where the "new thing" will be done, people will simply refuse to attend or spend any money (usually spending it in more conservative boroughs so those municipalities get the money. Others spend it in Belgium or Germany - again - coming at the expense of the State's finances and mind you: December is always a month of "raking in the pennies" for the Dutch government because of the massive spending going on because of three holidays. Besides, do you know what many left-wing municipalities have in common ? They are skint. Amsterdam is close to being placed under the dreaded Article 12 status: meaning that the government has to bail them out and place them under direct control.
