Disney to release film featuring its first ever black princess... but viewers are outraged that her prince appears WHITE

Move over Snow White. Make room for Disney’s first black princess.
With America’s first African-American president in the White House, Disney is counting on an African-American princess to be a big hit in Hollywood.
But even though The Princess and the Frog isn’t released until later this year, it is already stirring up controversy.

For while Princess Tiana and many in the cartoon cast are black – the prince is not.

Which has led some critics to complain that Disney has ducked the opportunity for a fairytale ending for a black prince and princess.
While some have hailed Disney’s decision as a reflection of melting pot America, others say the company is sending out a mixed message.

I was thinking Naveen sounds Middle Eastern or Indian.

These big budget computer-animated films are in production for years before they are released, they were just lucky with the Obama angle.

Since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1937, all of Disney’s princesses have predominantly been white.
A native Indian princess was featured in Pocahontas and Jasmine in Aladdin had a Middle Eastern appearance.

Let's not forget the Gypsy queen, Esmeralda; voiced by Demi Moore in 'The Hunchback of Notre dame'.

How annoying... people complain about all white casts, so the media started adding more niggers, arabs, hispanics, and asians to the casts of shows, movies, etc. Now that they have mixed ethnicities they STILL are not happy, and demand an all black cast.

I never saw the cartoon, but the feller is remarkably similar to Dalton in looks... Is this what he gets up to in those northern woods?

The 'prince' (Pasha?) is uncannily similar to Carlos, 'the Spanish one' in the pop/classical group 'il Divo', even down to the kiss-curl:

He plays a ridiculously stereotypical southern European, making smarmy innuendo jokes and wiggling his eyebrows all the time...

It's not my fault I know this, though - I had to take my mam to see them for a present! She was amused at my translation of the group's name - "Italian for divheads".


And, ha! What country is this black girl princess OF? Lesotho?!? If I was black I'd be annoyed at the European trappings of it all.
