I just turned 46 a week ago. I'd like to have more legitimate kids if possible lol. Maybe I'll go to bed right now and get started on that.

Not quite so.
Let's look from our male perspective.
When you are emancipated from chains put by the religious society and think freely, the only point of getting married is perhaps to have children.
In the traditional religious society, marriage is nothing but the legalisation of sex. Nowadays, you don't live anymore under the constant terror of religious society.
Not to mention all the money, time, energy spent for ceremonies. It is not reasonable to spend all you save after earning so many months (or even years for some people) of savings.
And still you might end up divorcing 5 months later.
The only reasonable pro is having children in a regularised environment. Otherwise bearing the foul breath of a same woman for decades is beyond logically acceptable limit except if you are in "crazy" love. Too much loving is also not rational, what if it doesn't work or if she crashes her face or she dies? You won't kill yourself hopefully.

Marriage where I’m from costs a fortune and the divorce rates are higher on average than any other state.
